Chris Helme - for thirty years he was a serving Police Officer and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1990 for his services to the community. He has written three books and a weekly nostalgia column in the ‘Brighouse Echo’ weekly newspaper for over twenty years.
It was over thirty years ago that he began collecting Brighouse and district memorabilia, particularly photographs, his collection now exceeds three thousand pictures. He has now agreed to make his collection available through Harrison Lord.
The Brighouse Collection
Owing to the size of the collection, it is impractical to put all the pictures in our web site so we have put some sample prints to give you some idea of what is available. If you would like pictures of a particular parts of Brighouse, Clifton, Rastrick, Bailiff Bridge and Lightcliffe area’s please send as much detail of your required area and Chris will search his records for you. We will then forward a proof copy of the image found so you can see if you wish to purchase a copy.
Prints are available in Black and White and are one size only, approximately 10” x 8” ( in order to give you the whole of the original image some prints may have white bands across the top or bottom as not all of the original prints are in this proportion) they will cost GBŁ14.00 plus post and packing.
